Privacy Policy

PhraseQueue is a sentence-practice and pronunciation app for iPhone and Mac. This policy explains what data PhraseQueue uses, where it is stored, and when information leaves your device.
1. Account and identity
PhraseQueue supports Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, PhraseQueue uses the identity information provided through Apple to establish and maintain your PhraseQueue account. Depending on your Apple privacy choices, this can include an Apple account identifier, display name, and an email address or Apple private relay address.
Authentication is handled with Firebase Authentication. PhraseQueue also maintains a stable internal account identifier so subscription state, shared cloud-pronunciation allowance, and account state can remain associated with the same PhraseQueue account.
2. Practice library and sync
Your practice lists, sentence tracks, folders, playback preferences, and pronunciation cache are stored locally on your device. When library sync is available for your account, library data is also synchronized through Firebase Firestore so it can stay in sync between your iPhone and Mac.
Library sync is account-scoped. PhraseQueue does not make your library publicly searchable.
3. On-device pronunciation
When you choose On-device pronunciation, PhraseQueue uses Apple speech-synthesis capabilities on your device. The sentence text is not sent to PhraseQueue's Cloud TTS service for that pronunciation mode.
4. Cloud pronunciation
When Cloud pronunciation is selected and requested audio is not already cached locally, PhraseQueue may send the following information through its protected backend to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech:
- the sentence text to be synthesized;
- language and selected cloud voice/model information;
- request metadata needed to authenticate and protect the service from abuse.
PhraseQueue's gateway is designed not to log sentence text. Successful synthesized audio may be cached locally so repeated practice does not require another synthesis request. Cloud-usage accounting is maintained server-side so the allowance can be shared by the same account across supported devices.
5. Subscription information
PhraseQueue Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. PhraseQueue receives and processes signed transaction and entitlement information needed to determine subscription status. PhraseQueue also uses Apple's App Store Server Notifications and Server API reconciliation to keep entitlement state accurate.
Payment-card details are handled by Apple and are not provided to PhraseQueue.
6. Remote Transfer
On iPhone, Remote Transfer is user-initiated and communicates directly between your computer and iPhone over the same local network. Transferred text and selected files do not pass through PhraseQueue's Cloud TTS backend. A temporary six-digit PIN is used for authorization while Remote Transfer is enabled.
7. Tracking and advertising
PhraseQueue does not include third-party advertising, does not use the advertising identifier, and does not use cross-app tracking. The current app does not include a product analytics system. Firebase App Check is used for service-integrity and abuse prevention rather than advertising.
8. Device permissions
PhraseQueue does not request location, contacts, microphone recording, camera, or advertising identifier access for its current feature set. The system file picker gives access only to files you explicitly choose. Remote Transfer can request local-network access when that feature is used.
9. Retention and deletion
Local practice data and cached pronunciation audio remain on your device until you delete them, clear the relevant cache, or remove the app. Account-backed library data and account records are retained while needed to provide the account and synchronization service.

Important: deleting a PhraseQueue account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through your Apple account.
10. Service providers
PhraseQueue relies on Apple services including Sign in with Apple, StoreKit and App Store server services; Firebase services for authentication, account-backed data and integrity protection; and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech for optional Cloud pronunciation.
